You set your conditions. We watch the next 9 days and write to you when they line up. We are not telling you to go out: we are telling you that what you asked for is forecast. The decision stays yours, and everything is checked on the spot.
Alert emails are written in French, whatever language you read the site in.

You can create several: one for weekdays, another for the big weekend days.
What you want to know
Reverse alert. You will be told about the days when La Ch'noue is low or dry. Wind and direction no longer mean anything here: those settings are switched off.
On some days the lock operation makes it impossible to decide in advance. Those days are flagged, never presented as certain.
The site does not yet separate foil from non-foil: the water level is not known in metres, only the state of the lock. That distinction will come.
Left unticked: you get your alerts and nothing else. The two mailings are separate, each with its own unsubscribe link.
You will first get a confirmation email. Until you click inside it, no alert is sent: that is what stops anyone signing up someone else's address.
A forecast, not a guarantee. The water level depends on lock operations that can change without notice. Nobody is telling you to go in: look at the water before you inflate.

Nature of the site: a non-profit information site: no advertising, no affiliate links, no sales, no revenue of any kind. Sources: wind and weather Open-Meteo (CC BY 4.0), tides © SHOM, lock ASMG and Les Sables-d'Olonne Agglomeration. Personal data: data controller Antoine Baud (antoine.baud1@gmail.com). The contact form sends your name, e-mail and message through Formspree (a US company) for the sole purpose of replying to you; this data is kept for three years after the last exchange. Traffic is measured with GoatCounter, without cookies and without storing IP addresses, on servers located in Germany and Finland. Fonts are served from the site itself: no third party is involved in displaying them. The home page offers a Google Maps map, which is loaded only after you click: until you do, Google receives nothing. No other page offers one. The host keeps connection logs. Email alerts: if you create an alert, your address, the name you give that alert and the criteria you choose are stored in a Google Sheets file and processed by a Google Apps Script script, under the publisher's account; Google acts here as a processor. Nothing is active until you have clicked in the confirmation message. You unsubscribe in one click from any message: the row is then marked unsubscribed, long enough to prove the request was handled, then erased. Site news is a separate mailing, subject to its own box, never ticked in advance, and it is not a condition for the alerts. Alert messages are written in French. What this site does not do: no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking, no sale or transfer of your address to a third party, no mailing you did not ask for. Your rights: access, rectification, erasure and objection, by writing to antoine.baud1@gmail.com; you may also lodge a complaint with the French CNIL. Liability: information is indicative, without guarantee; riding is at each person's own risk and conditions must be checked on site.
